We are seeking a Product Manager, based in Albany, Auckland, to maintain and build on our competitive products that are manufactured and assembled in New Zealand.

The Product Management team is focused on managing products through their life cycles from the ‘cradle to the grave’. The team works closely with a cross section of stake holders, including customers, sales teams, Product Development engineers, supply chain and marketing.  

This multi–disciplinary role will require an experienced Product Manager with an ability to see the big picture and attend to detail throughout the various phases of a products life cycle. Facilitating focus groups, sourcing products internationally, forecasting sales, pricing, product generation planning and rationalising of products will all be part of this role.

 

A high level of project management and organisation skills will be required for this challenging and varied role. Strong product knowledge and networks in the door hardware and locking systems sector will be advantageous.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Examine changing market requirements and conditions then recommend actions.
  • Keeping up to date with all products being developed by ASSA ABLOY and its subsidiary companies.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with all Product Managers.
  • Working with the NZ Sales teams to establish market requirements, complete voice of customer work, establishing business cases and presenting this to management staff.
  • Specifying the NZ product requirements and working with the various teams to ensure these requirements are met.
  • Project managing the implementation of new product up to the launch stage.
  • Writing up product specifications based on market and customer need and liaising with relevant suppliers or supply chain staff as appropriate.
  • Training of internal staff with respect to new products and ongoing technical support.
